Thin, stringy hair runs strong in my family: My mother had it, my sister has it, & I have it as well. We also have a history of having oily scalps, and when you combine a head not-so-full of hair & a tendency for an oily scalp, what happens is that you wake up the morning after a shampoo and your hair is greasy, clumped together, and your scalp shows through around the part. You look like a dirty, drowned rat & wonder what happened during the night that made your hair so oily! Doesn't matter if you washed it the previous morning or right before bed, you're going to wake up looking like Tim Robbins after crawling through that pipe in The Shawshank Redemption. There are a few things you can do about it: 1. Wash & style your hair every single day. 2. Get a perm (the chemicals dry out the scalp & adds volume.) 3. If you don't want to wash your hair daily, find a product that keeps your scalp dry. I do not like washing & styling my hair every day (I'd rather sleep another 15 minute) and perms are expensive, so I usually go for option 3. 1. Spray on dry shampoo: it doesn't work with thin hair & oily scalp - it just leaves a thick, greasy residue that adds to the dirty hair. 2. A hat, but I can't wear them at work. 3. Corn starch powder (so long as you're not allergic to corn products) or Baby Powder. These actually do work. I go for the corn starch because it is much, much cheaper & has no fragrance. But, both options are messy - the powder is very light gets all over & you look like Marie Antionette in a powdered wig. I put it on at night before bed, then maybe a little more in the morning as I'm putting on makeup, then towel off my hair. It may look a little dusty, but at least it's dry & adds a bit of volume. So I thought to myself, "Why don't they make a powder with some color to it?" Cuz the white powder, as I said, does leave some residue & you have to really scrub your head with the towel. Even then, I tend to have dry hands & lips & can feel the grit all day. Anyway, I decided to look on Amazon to see if they had anything, and of course, they do! I found quite a few products with colored powder dry shampoos, and read through the reviews. I chose this one. I felt the price was good & so were the reviews. I was not impressed by the small bottle (wish it were bigger), but people said a little goes a long way, so I tried it for the first time last night about a half hour before bedtime. Now, I'm not sure if you're 'supposed' to put it on before bed, but that's what I usually do with the corn starch, so I did. I sprinkled it on the crown of my hair & it looked like greyish purple powder. I went back to watch the end of my tv show, and after 5 minutes, I used my fingers to comb it into my hair like the instructions say to. Upon seeing myself in the bathroom mirror before going to bed, I smirked because it looked just like the corn starch . . . or so I thought. I wake up, and the powder was almost gone from my hair (it did not mess my pillow or get on my pajamas.) My hair looked perfectly dry & normal. The greyish purple had turned brown (on my scalp) and I did not have to use any more & had no dusty residue after I brushed & styled it, no dry lips or hands, no gritty feel whatsoever. I am VERY PLEASED with this product - a little does go a long way! There was a fragrance when I put it on (it was okay), but it was totally gone in the morning. I am so glad I took a chance. I am now a customer for life! Love it!

I have red hair, I ordered the medium to dark hair dry shampoo. It doesn't leave my hair with a visible chalkiness which is great! I like to put the powder into my hands and then sprinkle onto my head and massage the product in with my fingertips. To result is great! I have combo hair, so my roots get oily pretty quickly and dry shampoo really comes in handy. So far I really like this dry shampoo. I also like the size and that it is TSA approved.

Love this dry shampoo! For the longest time I had a hard time with the spray ones and avoided using dry shampoo all together until I found this one! Love it it s amazing! The inly thing I don t like is when it gets on my scalp or roots that it then makes my scalp look white and it s hard to get off.

This will be my third time purchasing this dry shampoo. I have tried aerosols and other powders but this is the most cost effective and honestly the best working one I've tried. I use it at night before bed and then brush it out in the morning and it gives my hair the perfect amount of volume without making it feel heavy or gross like other dry shampoos. I will also use it after freshly washed hair to give it a little more volume when styling. Definitely don't open it all the way as it comes out fast but once you get the technique down it works well. I like it better than the pump bottle products because I found that those clog easily. With this product you can even sprinkle it on a makeup brush and apply it that way. If you're looking for an effective, safe, and cheaper dry shampoo this is the one for you!

This is the best dry shampoo powder I ve found. Great price, dispenser and ingredients. It s very finally milled and doesn t leave a White cast or residue on my dark hair. I sprinkle it in my palm, rub my hands together and massage into scalp with my head inverted. It adds noticeable volume and a gentle fresh fragrance. You can use a generous amount and it doesn t leave a residue. I think the key is to rub into your hands first and not to sprinkle it directly into the hair. A brush would be great too, but I don t bother with that.

Like most people my age, I'm sometimes easily influenced by Tiktok, so when I came across a video recommending powdered dry shampoo, I really wanted to try it. I hate the smell of aerosol dry shampoo, and this seemed like a good idea. I poked around amazon trying to find a good one, and settled on this one. I like the packaging, and the powder doesn't really have too much of a smell, which is nice. Downsides... I ordered the type for dark hair, because, well... duh. I have dark hair. I like that it was easy to blend and didn't leave mysterious white powder patches, BUT this stuff stuck to my scalp like glue, and not only did it make my scalp look dirty AF (I have really thin hair in places from pcos, so it was quite noticable), but everytime I scratched my head, I would pull some of the powder up under my nails and it made them look dirty and gross. This dry shampoo also made my scalp a bit itchy, so... there was a lot of black stuff under my nails for a few days. As soon as I'd clean under my nails, I'd have an itch again. Annoying cycle that made me look gross and unhygienic. I also didn't notice much in terms of it working like other dry shampoos, and my hair was not looking good after day 4. Maybe that was user error, but with it making me look dirty, I don't think I want to try again.

Works great. Absorbs oils and light fragrance. Definitely for darker hair though and cannot use more than one or two times without build up.

Great price, works on my fine blonde/platinum hair, gives hair texture and thickness, scent when smelled didn t smell like much when in container, but once applied to hair and massaged in it gives a light sweet scent which is nice for deodorizing dirty hair. And it doesn t smell like oil and flowers like some others it actually just smells light and sweet with no covered dirty hair smell. This is the ONLY dry shampoo I ve tried that WORKS and is affordable. I can go 3-4 days in summer sweaty hair and it looks so good still. The method that works for me is first have totally dry hair, brush, apply inch by inch sections (just a light visible sprinkle) let sit for as looooong as possible, like do my makeup, get dressed and read a book for the next forever, (realistically I try to let sit for at least two hrs unbrushed in the sections in a claw clip) when it s time to style, I flip head upside down and vigorously massage scalp all over. This seems to remove extra product not absorbed by hair oil and thicken hair. Hence why head is upside down you will see extra product powder fall, this avoids you from getting it on your outfit and helps fluff/thicken. Then wash hands to remove excess product. Lightly brush again then style. One container lasts me 3-4 months I use this once a week and it saves me sooo much time especially being a college student. My hair is mid back length and medium fine texture. Usually will be nice and greasy 12 hrs after washing or when having a before bed shower it will 100% be greasy in the am. My hair has improved in health bc I m not washing as much and it gets to feel more natural. Also I switched to Yes Honey shampoo products. Not sure if that helps but I do think it s better for my hair. I looked for, and tried so many dry shampoos. I just wasn t paying 60$ for one. None I tried did the job and I just decided my hair is just too greasy for it. So when this was recommended on a video I bought bc of the price and reviews.
